Chris Perry holds every Adams State receiving record and was named an All-American by four different organizations in his senior season of 1995. Perry caught 143 balls for 2,527 yards and 26 touchdowns in just two years at Adams State. Perry owns the single-season program record for receptions (88), receiving yards (1,719), yards per game (171.9), and touchdowns (21). His 21 touchdowns in a single-season set a new NCAA record. Perry's sensational senior campaign consisted of notable single-game feats as well. Perry's single-game program highs include 12 receptions for 291 yards and 5 touchdowns; all of which are school records.
In 1995, Perry caught a national record four touchdowns in one quarter against Colorado Mesa College. In the RMAC record books, he holds the top single-season mark for receiving yards and touchdowns. Following his senior season, Perry was named the 1995 NCAA Division II Athlete of the Year by College Sports Magazine and the RMAC Player of the Year.
Perry was also a member of the Adams State track & field team where he was a two-time All-American and set a school record in the javelin with a distance of 233 feet, 6 inches.
After his time at Adams State, Perry went on to play the 1999 and 2000 seasons for the Buffalo Destroyers of the Arena Football League (AFL). With Buffalo he totaled 46 receptions for 655 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns. He also lined up as a defensive back and registered 9 tackles, 4 pass break-ups, and an interception.
