At the 1992 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championship, All-American Jason Mohr, helped solidify a perfect team score of 15 en route to Adams State claiming a national championship—their first at the NCAA level. Mohr did so with a time of 32:28 for a fifth-place individual finish; securing ASU with all top five finishers. It is the only perfect score at a championship meet in NCAA cross country history. Preceding that, Mohr captured first place at the 1992 NCAA Division II Central Regional Championships in Omaha, Neb. with a time of 30:09.

He was the 1992 NAIA steeplechase champion with a meet record time of 8:43.44. He also held the school record in the event for 20 years which he obtained at the 1992 Penn Relays in a time of 8:40.76. Mohr qualified and competed at the 1992 U.S. Olympic Trials in New Orleans and ended his Adams State career as a 10-time NCAA and NAIA All-American.

Mohr alongside teammates Shane Healy, Brian Blazek, and Dan Caufield won the Distance Medley Relay (DMR) at the 1992 NAIA Indoor Track & Field with a time of 10:02.05. These efforts helped Adams State claim the national team championship. Former head coach Dr. Joe I. Vigil, a fellow ASU Hall of Famer, labeled Mohr as "An outstanding guy and a true leader."

Mohr was also a member of the 1990 U.S. junior men's team at the World Cross Country Championships in Aix-les-Bains, France
