Melanie Schiele is a name you can find all over the ASU volleyball record book. In her time from 1991 to 1994 in which she helped the institution transition from NAIA to NCAA, Schiele was also an academic-minded athlete.

She was a 1991 All-District selection, a 1992 All-Academic selection, a 1993, 1994 and 1995 RMAC Scholar Athlete in addition to being a 1992 All-RMAC Second Team selection and a 1993 All-RMAC First Team selection. She led the Grizzlies in 1992 for Serve Percentage.

She graduated in 1995 cum laude with a 3.65 GPA.
