When Louis Wilson took over the Adams State men's basketball program, the team was coming off a 4-23 season. In just one year, Wilson orchestrated one of the greatest turnarounds in program history, leading the Grizzlies to a 20-9 record in 2010–11 and a berth in the NCAA Division II playoffs—their first in nearly a decade. The Grizzlies followed that up with 19 wins and another NCAA appearance in 2011–12. During his nine-season tenure, Wilson guided the program to 140 wins and three consecutive NCAA regional appearances, setting a new standard for success in Grizzly basketball.
