Shane Healy was an instrumental part of three national    championships for Adams State during 1990-1993. He      competed at both the NAIA and NCAA DII levels as Adams State was in the process of transitioning during his career.
While with Adams State Shane had a brilliant career, winning five individual national championships, two of which were won at the NCAA DII level. Shane’s first national title came during the indoor season in 1991, when he ran the anchor leg of the distance medley relay.
The 1992 cross country season saw Adams State win the team title with a perfect score, a team Healy ran on. Healy then went on to win two national titles during the 1992 indoor season, winning the mile in 4:05:64, which was a national             championship record at the time. Shane’s DMR (Distance Medley Relay) team repeated as national champions as well.  He would wrap up a brilliant career in 1993 with two more National championships, including the individual title in cross country and a title in the men’s 1500 meter run.
Coach Vigil describes Shane as a great team player and among the hardest workers he ever coached.
